Not Worth It

After the sex
What then?
A notch to stretch
A boast to friends
A bit on the side
What a fool!
Egotistical pride
Broken rules
and commitment
How could you
be so negligent?

No amount of showers
scented baths
carrying healing powers
could erase the past
and once is never enough
The chase begins
Ravenous - the stuff
on offering
But it runs its route
with typical results
Spoilt fruit
